Uniform

Uniform

At Orchard House High School, our uniform plays an important part in creating a sense of identity, pride and belonging. It helps foster a calm, focused environment where our students can feel equal, safe, and ready to learn.

We are proud to be an inclusive school, and our approach to uniform reflects our values of dignity, respect and individuality. We are mindful of the additional needs of our students and will always work in partnership with families to make adjustments where needed.

Our School Uniform

Our uniform is simple, comfortable and practical for everyday learning:

  • Bottle Green jumper, sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Black polo shirt
  • Black trousers or skirt

Branded uniform items with the Orchard House High School logo are available for purchase, but they are optional. Plain, unbranded alternatives in the correct colours are equally acceptable.

Government Guidance Compliance

We follow the Department for Education's statutory guidance on school uniforms, ensuring our uniform:

  • Is affordable and accessible to all families
  • Allows for reasonable flexibility and adjustments for pupils with SEND
  • Reflects our inclusive ethos without compromising on safety or practicality
  • We do not require multiple branded items and aim to keep the cost of uniform to a minimum. Families can choose where to buy unbranded items, provided they match the school colours.

Sensory and Physical Needs

We recognise that some students may have sensory processing difficulties or physical needs that affect their ability to wear standard uniform items. In these cases, we will work with families to agree on appropriate adjustments. Our priority is always the comfort and wellbeing of our pupils.

Support with Uniform
